The Waste Hierarchy
We follow the internationally recognised waste hierarchy to ensure every material is managed at the highest possible level — with landfill always the last resort.
Avoid
The most effective waste strategy is preventing waste from being created in the first place. We help businesses and strata identify unnecessary waste streams and eliminate them at the source.
Reduce
Where waste cannot be avoided entirely, we work with clients to minimise the volume and toxicity of waste generated through smarter purchasing and operational changes.
Reuse
Before anything enters the waste stream, we identify opportunities for materials to be reused — whether through internal processes, donation programs, or secondary markets.
Recycle
Materials that cannot be reused are separated and sent to licensed recycling facilities. We partner with specialist processors for paper, cardboard, plastics, metals, and organic waste.
Recover
Waste that cannot be recycled in its current form can still have value. Energy recovery and waste-to-energy processes extract useful energy from residual waste streams.
Dispose
Landfill is always the last resort. Only waste that cannot be processed through any other method is directed to licensed landfill facilities. Currently, this represents just 15% of what we collect.
